Is Ireland broken...? Why doesn't Ireland's economy work for Irish people...?

At the time of recording, Ireland is the 4th richest country by GDP and continues to remain an attractive place for the biggest global technology companies to base their EMEA headquarters. However, despite this massive growth in GDP, high paying jobs and a huge budget surplus, Ireland continues to face lowering living standards, declining healthcare and reduced access to essential resources such as housing. All of this challenges the conventional idea that overall national wealth will 'trickle down' to ordinary workers and the power dynamic between the government and tech CEOs.
