But it's not easy to see the Northern Lights, and in fact, despite all the travelers we encountered, who were also hunting for the elusive aurora, they hadn't been able to see them. We didn't intend to make it to the north of Iceland in winter, but another traveler, who had come to Iceland from Canada for just three days with the sole purpose of seeing the Northern Lights, and whom we met while we were waiting on the street waiting to rent a car, had studied all the topography, places, and most likely spots to see the Northern Lights. She told us her first destination was a remote area in the north of the country, so we didn't hesitate and went to the same place. No luck that night, nor the following ones, and this traveler returned to Canada without seeing the aurora, but I'm sure this girl will return and be able to see the aurora in its fullness. Between the night rain, the clouds, and the city lights, it's not easy to see the aurora, but we, almost at the end of the trip, were blessed and were able to see it. This Cosmic Stork has many surprises in store for us... what's clear is that she's asking us to move, she's on the way without knowing where we'll sleep the next day, with her eyes open, without prejudices or expectations, just the eyes of her heart open.
