She Let ME Navigate... I Got Us Lost

Steve insisted on navigating... and that's where it all went wrong. 😅 This hike in the Lake District should have been simple. We parked the campervan near Gummer's How, picked what looked like an easy route... and then Steve decided to take charge of directions. Bad idea. What followed was a proper off-trail adventure - boggy ground, wrong turns, and Steve trying (and failing) to make sense of AllTrails while we wandered further from the path (and our campervan.) Somehow we ended up in a beautiful forest, found what was DEFINITELY a Victorian-era troll's house, and still managed to go the wrong way again. Because of course we did. Eventually, we cut across Birch Fell Plantation, battled steep muddy trails, and tried to find our way back to the campervan without getting completely stuck. This definitely wasn't the easiest route... but it might have been the most adventurey one.
