Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. sits down with Cherokee Genealogist David Hampton at the Cherokee National Research Center in Tahlequah, Cherokee Nation Reservation, present-day Oklahoma, to explore Chief Hoskin’s family history and to look at historical documents related to his family. During his genealogy research, David Hampton created a family tree and combed through Dawes Rolls census (enrollment) cards for Native Americans, newspaper archives, family wills, World War II and Civil War records, Cherokee Nation Supreme Court documents related to slavery, and more.
