Errata at 5:12 -- It is not always necessary to boot the audio server in order to send and receive OSC. Both sclang and scsynth are OSC-compliant programs. By default, the language listens for OSC on port 57120 and the server listens on port 57110. But, it is never disadvantageous to boot the server prior to establishing OSC communication.
