KSMO (WB) Commercials [September 14, 1998]

Contents: DuckTales (partial, credits only) Pokémon - Showdown in Pewter City (premiere) The Wacky World of Tex Avery - Tex Babies / Gunga Dan / Cat Scratch Fervor Transformers: Beast Wars - Double Jeopardy Tiny Toons Adventures (partial, cut during intro) Animaniacs (partial, credits only) Probably one of the best finds on this channel at the moment, the contents in question being from an early, weekday morning syndicated cartoon block. This includes a very early airing of Pokémon, back when it was going around in first-run syndication. What makes this even more special is that this is from the handful of episodes that premiered before Pokémon Red and Blue came out, as the games wouldn't release until September 28. This makes the anime the first exposure to Pokémon in the states, as well as making first-run syndication broadcasts very hard to come by. Finding something like this has been on my bucket list for a long while, and I'm glad to have such an early airing. Of course, there's other stuff here as well. Wacky World of Tex Avery isn't really my cup of tea, but I'm sure someone else would get a kick out of it. Beast Wars is pretty alright, and personally, I'm just a geek for early 3D animation, even if it's clunky and stilted by today's standards. The guy recording decided to tape around the early weekday Kids WB block, but I've included what was left, including some credits and a few bumpers. Speaking of which, in this upload are plenty of promos, interstitials and bumpers for Kids Crew 62, which was KSMO's general branding for their kids oriented blocks and content. Very little of this era of the block exists, outside of an ID or two, so I'm happy to provide a good bit of local TV history. Hopefully you enjoy the upload; I've got plenty more stuff from both KSMO and it's sister station, KCWE to upload from this era, so look forward to that. (oh, and there was an audio promo for the Pokémon credits that I'll upload later. ShoPro forced me to take them down, weh)
