Care in the community for three individuals with severe learning disabilities. What does Care in the Community mean for people with severe learning disabilities? After 18 years in a hospital ward, John is moving to a small house in the community. For over 21 years, Peter has lived at home with his mother without support. Since leaving hospital Johnny has discovered photography. Community care can be positive and exciting but it is not a cheap option . This film is of historical interest and reflects the cultural attitudes, medical procedures and language of the time it was made. But the issues raised are timeless.
