Today's ride was to re-inaugurate Sinara's bicycle after a shoulder fracture - and to mark Sinara's return to cycling. For those who didn't follow, Sinara bought a new bicycle about two months ago. On her first ride, she was starting to pedal when a dog came out like crazy from a gate, hit her bicycle sideways, and Sinara fell, hitting her shoulder hard on the ground. The moral of the story is, she fractured her shoulder, was immobilized, laid up for a while, riding on a stationary bike with an arm sling, and undergoing physiotherapy, acupuncture, and weight training to regain movement. Today was her return to her first rides (cleared by the doctor as it was mostly on dirt roads). So, the route Sinara chose was the classic Córrego do Ouro, a very enjoyable ride uphill with spectacular views of Sobradinho, surrounded by many friends cheering and celebrating her return to cycling.
