Pawnee People of Butler County
This is the video of the March 24, 2025 history program about the Pawnee People of Butler County. This history program was hosted by the Butler County Nebraska Historical Society. The event was made possible by grants from Humanities Nebraska and the Cultural Endowment fund; the Butler County Area Foundation Fund; and local $300 sponsors, Destination David Creative District. Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art also volunteered to help. Our speakers for this 2 hour presentation were Matt Reed, the chief historic preservation officer of the Pawnee Nation; Nancy Carlson, archaeologist and anthropologist and founding board member of the Genoa Indian School; and Broc Anderson, the director of historic sites for the Nebraska State Historical Society. This program had around 270 guests attending this event. Many volunteers helped to make this successful event happen.
