Why It Sucks To Be a French Bulldog

French bulldogs are easy to love. They look funny, sweet, and harmless, like little cartoon dogs made for cuddles. But behind that cute face, many of them are born into a body that makes life harder than it should be. Their flat skull can leave them fighting for air, snoring, choking, overheating, or getting tired after simple walks. Some puppies cannot even enter the world naturally, because their heads and bodies often make birth difficult, so C-sections become common. Their tiny twisted tails may look adorable, but they can come with spine problems. Their wrinkles can trap dirt and moisture, turning soft folds into painful infections. Their big eyes are easier to scratch, and their bat ears can hide irritation and chronic infections. Many also deal with allergies, itchy skin, paw licking, stomach issues, and endless vet visits. The snoring, the heavy breathing, the laziness, the tiredness — all of it gets treated like personality.
