When God Doesn't Do Your Will | Mark 6:45-56 Jesus Sent His Disciples Into the Storm

What do you do when God doesn't do what you want? In Mark 6:45-56, the disciples find themselves confused, frustrated, and caught in the middle of a storm. Just moments after witnessing the miraculous feeding of the 5,000, Jesus sends them away while He dismisses the crowd. Why? John's account reveals that the people wanted to make Jesus king by force (John 6:14-15). They wanted a Messiah who would fulfill their agenda. The disciples likely shared many of those expectations. Instead of giving them the kingdom they wanted, Jesus sent them into a storm. Sometimes the greatest challenge to our faith isn't suffering—it's when God refuses to do our will. Mark 6 reminds us that Jesus is not merely the Savior we want; He is the Savior we need.
