US-Iran peace talks paused as Iran prepares for Ayatollah Khamenei’s dayslong funeral
Qatari and Pakistani mediators said Thursday that the next meetings between Iranian and U.S. negotiators would be scheduled "at the earliest possible time" after funeral commemorations for Iran's former supreme leader, CBS reports. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes on Feb. 28, and his funeral is to last from July 4 until July 9.
