Polyphonic Effects with VCV Rack - Full Tutorial

Here's a tutorial on an idea I'm slightly obsessed with: making effects polyphonic! What does that mean? Basically, I'm using (or abusing?) VCV's polyphony capability to take a monophonic audio signal and duplicate it onto 16 channels on one cable. This effectively creates 16 discrete instances of any polyphonic module it's connected to, and using polyphonic modulation as well, we can independently vary parameters on each instance, creating lush, thick effects with a wide stereo image. This wouldn't make sense for mix bus effects like EQ , saturation, compression or reverb etcetera, but it's great for filters, delays and modulation (it's not just for dodgy guitar playing either!). In the video I demonstrate polyphonic versions of a random step phaser, granular delay through resonant low-pass filters, octave delay, comb filter and ring modulation. DOWNLOAD THE PATCHES! Polyphonic Step Phaser: https://patchstorage.com/polyphonic-s... Polyphonic Comb Filter: https://patchstorage.com/polyphonic-c... Polyphonic Ring Mod: https://patchstorage.com/polyphonic-r... Polyphonic Octave Delay: https://patchstorage.com/polyphonic-o... I haven't uploaded the granular delay because it uses Instant Delay, which isn't a free module. If you have the Unfiltered Audio collection and want a copy of there patch, let me know. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a free polyphonic-capable granular delay yet in the library.
