WTO DG, DR NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA'S MESSAGE AT THE 66TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF NES

WTO Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, delivered a video message at the 66th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), held in Abuja, Nigeria. Speaking on the theme “Rethinking Africa’s Development: Pathways to Economic Transformation and Social Inclusion in a Changing Global Economic Landscape,” Dr. Okonjo-Iweala challenged the long-standing narratives that define Africa only by its deficiencies. She emphasized that on an ageing planet, Africa’s youthful population represents the workforce of the future if adequately prepared, its vast arable land positions the continent as central to global food security, and its rich natural resources make it a vital hub for the future.
