Ralph Alfonso's Toronto 1977 punk walk - 2011
Diodes manager & Crash 'n' Burn co-founder leads a walking tour of significant sites where punk began in 1977 Toronto. Starting at the site of the Ontario College of Art where The Diodes formed and performed in early 1977. Continuing to the former Beverley Tavern, home to many OCA students and the bands that took over, including Martha and the Muffins. A short walk south to the site of Canada's first punk club, the Crash 'n' Burn in the summer of 1977 where locals The Diodes, The Viletones, The Poles and Teenage Head (from Hamilton) played along with the Dead Boys. A final stop to The Diodes rehearsal space on Queen St., radically changed in the many intervening years. a video by Henry Martinuk, Chernozym Video The Diodes on FB: / 46862397661 The Diodes: http://thediodestoronto.com/ Ralph Alfonso FB: / ralphalfonso Ralph's BBAM!
