Current World Record Super Mario RPG Any% Speedrun in 2:45:41 - WR as of 7/25/2024

ITS OVER!!! The first to 2:45:xx and boy it's a good one! Not only a very insane opening through Bundt (only 12 seconds behind my best time), but enough freebies without the help of the Flower Box drop or Red Essence freebie to ensure an item only Gunyolk fight and MAXIMUM time save in the Factory which was essentially perfectly executed IMO! This world record now has the zero-punch Terrapin manipulation at the start, and omits the Kero Sewers star experience that was obtained in the former record. No unintentional encounters and no dropped Super Jumps!! Excellent boss luck on almost every fight. The Axem Rangers fight was the only blemish due to the worst possible Ultra Jump luck. Why couldn't the Rock Candy just have freebie'd instead?! This is my 8th WR in SMRPG Any% and unless some new massive time save is found, this is as far as I go. This run has some room for improvement, but it's gonna take an exponentially luckier run throughout to have a chance challenge this. I don't even think I could challenge it, especially when it comes to freebies and the opening hour and Factory. The Inner Factory splits were both gold segments capping off this Justin-credible speedrun! The record might have my name on it, but a lot of individuals were involved in making the run what it is now. There are too many to name, but they know who they are. Former world record holders, routers and runners who have brought ideas to the table over the last 15 years! I have more plans for SMRPG, but they will be in other capacities, like the Armageddon romhack! This is the end of one journey, but the start of many new ones!
