This repair takes a few minutes; BUT the replacement spring may have too much tension, so don't throw away your old one. I bought this trimmer a couple of years ago for $99.99. Amazon sells it (it went up in price to $139 when I checked today). The replacement line is $7.50 on Amazon (.065 inch diameter). I don't recommend buying the pre-spooled line replacements, because you can do the line spool yourself for a lot cheaper. The cap and spring replacement is also sold at Amazon for $5.79.
