The first one is the father as priest. The father does this by: 1. Sacrifice of intercession for the family (Job 1:1–5 ) 2. Apply the blood on the doorposts (Exodus 12:3) - the whole being of the household lay on the fathers responsibility to apply the blood. 3. Have faith for children (Mark 9:23–24) 4. Claim salvation for the family - as a privilege (Acts 16:31) As a priest the husband & father represents the family to God, just like the priests represent the people to God.
