Has Your Child Walked Away From Their Faith? Last year I was sitting in a restaurant during a Harley Davidson ministry ride beside me was a young man, I didn’t know him but I knew his family. I asked him to tell me his story, as he begins to share I was overcome with emotion…his story was of a son raised in a ministry home but then walks away from everything he was taught and turns away from God…it was a story of a prodigal son. That boy's name is Kolton and what I love about Kolton…His passion and authenticity – he is not ashamed to share…because it tells a greater story, a powerful story of the relentless love of God. I want you to hear his story. What an amazing testimony of the power of prayer. I recently watched Kolton at a men’s conference where he led worship alongside his dad to over 1000 men…that is God’s redeeming power. Tears came to my eyes…God is so good! First one on prayer for all the parents – Lamentations 2:19 - Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer, pleading for your children. Then one of HOPE - Jeremiah 24:7 - I will give them hearts that recognize me as the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly. Mark Batterson wrote a book Prayer – The Circle Maker and from that wrote an excerpt Praying Circles around your Children. I like what he said, “You will never be a perfect parent but you can be a praying parent.
