The Attorney General's Office announced the start of the first phase of returning funds to those affected by the Credicash case. In this stage, at least 212 victims in Chalatenango will receive reimbursements of up to $5,000, after filing the corresponding complaint and the required documentation to validate their cases. Authorities explained that the process is being carried out under judicial supervision and is part of the efforts to return the money recovered during the investigation. They also reported that the State is holding $38.5 million in seized funds, resources that could be used in future phases of restitution to more victims.
