Some structures are more than just stone walls; they carry within them years of labor, longing, and dreams. Albora Mansion is one of them… I had long wished to meet İskender De Basso, who spearheaded the construction of the mansion and played a major role in giving it its current identity. We had a long and heartfelt conversation at his vineyard house in his village. Mr. De Basso recounted his childhood, his life journey to Sweden, his education there, his return to Türkiye, and the story of how Albora Mansion came into being, with complete sincerity. Afterwards, we toured Albora Mansion together; we filmed the architecture, some sections, and the garden. We had the opportunity to hear from him about the thought behind every stone, every detail, and the years of labor invested. This video tells the story of a person forced to leave his homeland, and years later, his connection to his roots, the value he places on cultural heritage, and a great dream that has come true.
