SUTEP SAN MARTÍN EXIGE AL GOBIERNO REGIONAL EVALUAR PAGO DE DEUDA SOCIAL

TARAPOTO. The newly elected regional secretary of the SUTEP teachers' union in San Martín, Professor Ruiz, announced that the union has formally begun negotiations with the Regional Government to establish an emergency technical working group. The main objective is to assess budget balances and the PIA fund to ensure payment of the social debt (30% for lesson preparation) and the Compensation for Length of Service (CTS) for contracted teachers and teaching assistants. The union leader lamented that, unlike previous administrations, no disbursements have been made to teachers during the current regional administration's four years in office. Given this situation, Ruiz warned that, although the regional authorities are in the final months of their term, there is still enough time to facilitate these payments and address the demands of the region's teachers.
