Luis Suarez tried to leave Liverpool in 2013, claiming the Premier League club had promised him a move, but was blocked from moving to Arsenal before getting his switch to Barcelona the following summer. We also take a look at Steven Gerrard, who was inches away from betraying Liverpool for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho just weeks after winning the Champions League in 2005, and Alan Shearer, who was apparently close to joining the Reds from Newcastle two years earlier. Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo looked like leaving Man United years before they actually did, while Patrick Vieira threatened to leave Arsenal on a number of occasions.
