What Yorktown Should have Been: Starfleet Headquarters
Today we take a look at one of the Designs of the Visonary Franz Joseph. Starfleet Headquarters as it appeared in the 'Starfleet Technical Manual' published in 1975. Predating the better known 'Earth Spacedock' from "The Search for Spock" and onwards. This Design has a number of intresting features, from compartmentalised docking spheres. to the use of spin gravity, and even incorporating a biodome. 40 years later "Star Trek Beyond" depicts a similar concept in the form of the Starbase Yorktown albeit on a much grander scale. heavily influenced by Josephs Design and the optimistic futuristic aesthetic of the 1960s Resources: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars...
