The Reality of Retiring Abroad Nobody Talks About

Living on the road for most of my adult life was all I knew. Going from being homeless in my early thirties to driving heavy rigs for decades meant I developed one specific set of skills—and left everything else behind. Now, as I prepare to step down and transition into full-time retirement here in the Philippines, I’m facing a reality I didn't fully anticipate. From trying to learn hand-skills like tiling and house repairs, to navigating the language barrier and feeling isolated from the local community, it’s easy to feel left behind. In this video, I share an honest look at what life after the truck really feels like, the challenge of relying entirely on my family, and the personal promise I’m making to take back control of my own future. Thanks for watching, listening, and coming along on this journey.
