Exploring North Sumatra & Sulawesi

Frans and Jerry van de Beek set off on an incredible journey through Indonesia, beginning their adventure on the wild and beautiful island of Sumatra. They immersed themselves in nature with a unique glamping and jungle trekking experience in Tangkahan, where they spotted gibbons in the treetops and even walked alongside elephants—an unforgettable encounter in the heart of the jungle. In Bukit Lawang, they witnessed the magic of seeing orangutans in their natural habitat. Their journey continued with a climb up a towering volcano in Berastagi, a challenge rewarded with breathtaking views. From there, they explored Samosir Island in Lake Toba, soaking up the relaxed atmosphere, enjoying delicious local food, and connecting with the warm and welcoming people of Sumatra. After an amazing two weeks together, Frans returned home, while Jerry continued the adventure solo to North Sulawesi. There, he discovered a whole new underwater world while diving around the island of Bunaken, famous for its vibrant marine life. Back on land, Jerry ventured deep into the jungle again, encountering fascinating wildlife including yakis (crested black macaques), tiny tarsiers, and bear cuscuses—each sighting adding to the richness of his journey.
