The event takes place in the historic building of Spilve Airport — an architectural landmark of monumental Soviet neoclassicism built in the 1950s in Riga, Latvia. AWAKENING is a Nordic Curatorial Contemporary Art project exploring themes of memory, identity, inner transformation, and human experience through interdisciplinary artistic practices. The project is created by the independent curatorial platform Art Chaos Gallery (Finland), founded by Nikolay Zapolnov and curator Aliona Muravskaja (Alyona Artme). The historic former airport space becomes part of the artistic statement itself, creating a dialogue between architecture, memory, and contemporary art. AWAKENING creates a space for artistic dialogue, cultural exchange, and interdisciplinary contemporary practices. The project is formed through a curatorial selection process.
