Nuhara - Sbògghia (Cantu ri Pisatura) Live Session

Recorded Live at Rocca Fumata Archival footage from “Le voci del grano” by Sergio Bonananzinga, courtesy of the author Art Direction: Federico Pipia The symbolism of the sun, of blinding light, corresponds in contrast to the impenetrable shadow it produces. Sbògghia presents itself with the cyclical and obsessive force of the bendir and their rhythms, altered and recontextualized through the polyrhythmic introduction of a distorted and repetitive electronic sequence. A listening dimension made of parallel lines that constantly meet and clash through noise interventions and displaced accents. By turning our gaze away from the grain—or from labor—and looking directly at the sun, we enter a dazzling, dreamlike dimension made of electric drones and feedback.
