Try our simple tips and enjoy the taste of summer at home! ■Ingredients (for 2 cobs) ・2 fresh corns ・Water ■How to make 1. Peel the outer skin of the corn, leaving 1-2 thin layers of the inner skin. It’s okay to lightly cut off the tips of the silk. 2. Put plenty of water in a large pot (or a frying pan with a lid) and add the corn with its husks in the water. 3. Cover and place over medium heat, bring to a boil, then boil for 3-4 minutes (about 5 minutes for thicker corn). If using a frying pan, fill about halfway with water, cover, and steam boil. 4. Once boiled, remove from the pot with tongs, and leave to cool naturally without placing in water. If you're not eating right away, wrap in plastic wrap while still hot to keep the corn moist. ■Instructions 1.Remove the outer husk, leaving 1–2 thin inner layers. Trim the tip of the silks. 2.Put the corn (with husk) into plenty of water in a large pot or lidded frying pan. 3.Cover and heat over medium. Once boiling, cook for 3–4 minutes (or about 5 minutes for thick cobs). If using a frying pan, add water halfway up the corn and steam with a lid. 4.Remove with tongs, let cool naturally. For storage, wrap in plastic while hot. 🌽 Tips By not adding salt when boiling, the skin will not harden and the sweetness will not escape. By leaving some of the skin on while boiling, the moisture and aroma will be locked in, resulting in a fluffy finish. If using a frying pan, just enough water to cover half the corn + a lid will be fine. Don’t add salt when boiling—this keeps the corn tender and sweet. Leaving some husk locks in flavor and moisture.
