By request of the vase owner's grandson. 1. May 10, 1983. Dave calls Dr. Harold Nichols, who owns the world's largest vase, in Ames. Iowa. 2. May 30, 1983. Dr. Harold Nichols guests on the show, and with him his vase, which is displayed in the studio for the week. 3. May 31, 1983. The vase on display, Day 2, with Bob Rooney. 4. June 1, 1983. Questions arise whether the vase is truly the world's largest, so Dave takes corrective action. With VIPs and a Chris Elliott sighting. 5. June 2, 1983. A Cold Open; then Dave reads children's letters to the vase; and finally, a fitting sendoff. 6. May 7, 1984. Coda: Dave asks F. Lee Bailey if a lawsuit is warranted on the vase's Canadian challenge.
