Watch: Day 1 of papal conclave, from procession into Sistine Chapel to black smoke

Cardinal electors began the secretive process to elect the next leader of the Catholic Church on Wednesday. The 133 cardinals participating in the conclave proceeded into the Sistine Chapel where they individually swore an oath of secrecy before the doors were locked to the public. Hours later, smoke billowed from the chapel's chimney, signaling a pope hasn't been elected.
