THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL IS NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED BUT I LOVED IT! Tessa Smith is back with Mama’s Geeky Reacts to The Punisher: One Last Kill, and WOW… this was NOT what I expected — but honestly, that made it even better. Going into this, I expected nonstop brutality and action (which we absolutely got), but I was surprised by just how emotional this story became. There were multiple moments where I was full-on sobbing, especially anytime the story focused on children and Frank reliving the trauma of losing his family. Watching him revisit those memories was devastating and really highlighted the emotional depth behind The Punisher. That said… this movie definitely does NOT hold back on the violence. The kills are brutal, bloody, and creative in exactly the way Punisher fans want. And can we talk about that pen kill?! It just kept going and somehow became even more intense the longer it lasted. Plus, Frank literally being ON FIRE during one of the action sequences was absolutely insane. One of the best parts of this film is how well it handles Frank Castle’s PTSD and trauma. Jon Bernthal delivers an incredible performance, balancing rage, grief, and vulnerability perfectly. This is exactly why he IS Frank Castle. And yes… they really killed a dog. That moment hurt BAD, but seeing the man responsible ultimately face justice at the hands of The Punisher made for such a satisfying ending. Also — the surprise Karen Page cameo made me SO happy!! Seeing these worlds continue to connect in the MCU is incredibly exciting. This movie proves that The Punisher belongs in the MCU, and I cannot wait to see where Frank Castle goes next. I was devastated by Frank reliving the loss of his family, shocked by the brutal and extended pen kill, hyped over the insane action scenes including Frank literally being on fire, emotional over the portrayal of PTSD and trauma, heartbroken by the dog’s death, and thrilled by Karen Page’s surprise cameo and the satisfying final act of justice. Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Daredevil) absolutely crushes it as Frank Castle / The Punisher, delivering a performance that is both brutally violent and emotionally heartbreaking. Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil) returns as Karen Page in a surprise cameo that longtime Marvel fans will absolutely love.
