TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had launched a new attack on a United States special operations command center in Syria on Thursday (July 16). The attack was described as part of the 11th wave, which it claimed targeted several US military facilities. The IRGC stated that the attack destroyed a radar system and several special operations helicopters, and caused casualties among US troops. According to the IRGC, the operation was carried out in retaliation for the Iranian casualties that occurred in Iranshahr the previous night. In addition to Syria, the IRGC claimed to have launched 12th and 13th waves targeting US military assets in Kuwait and Oman. In Kuwait, Iran claimed to have destroyed a radar system, a major weapons depot, and two missile launchers. Meanwhile, in Oman, the operation reportedly targeted a maritime surveillance facility in the As Salamah Islands and an air surveillance radar in the Ghanam region. The IRGC stated that the entire series of operations were part of its ongoing retaliation for US attacks on Iranian civilian facilities and infrastructure. Iran also asserted that the Strait of Hormuz remains under the control of the IRGC Navy amid rising tensions in the region.
