John 9:39 Lyrics Yeah Blind men walking Thinking we could see Till the Spirit breathed life Romans 3 John 9 Let’s go Dead in sin, yeah, spiritually corpses Loved our chains, we were slaves by our choices Ran from the light, hearts cold and lawless Couldn’t see Christ ’cause our pride was enormous Read the Word but the veil stayed on us Truth right there but we still don’t want it Eyes wide open but our souls were shut Loved our lust more than we loved our God Yeah, willing blindness, we defended the dark Every sinful desire had a throne in the heart Tried religion but the root stayed rotten Whitewashed tombs, still spiritually forgotten Couldn’t understand spiritual things Fallen minds only worshipped self as king No fear of God, no reverence within Till sovereign grace came crashing in You opened my eyes Now I see the glory of Christ Spirit gave life through the Word of God Now the cross got me feeling alive I was blind, now I see Grace alone set a slave man free King Jesus, beautiful King Now His light is everything Like the man born blind on the side of the road Christ spoke once then the whole world glowed Pharisees staring at the Light of the world Still blind while they quoted the scrolls That’s the danger of a heart full of pride Bible in your hand but the truth denied Could know theology, still never know Christ See with your eyes, still spiritually night But the Spirit moved when the Gospel was preached Now dead men breathe and the captives released Scales fell off when the Savior was seen Now the Lamb got a hold on me Yeah, now the Scriptures burn in my chest Every page got the face of Christ impressed Law and prophets, all of it points To the crucified King who gives us joy You opened my eyes Now I see the glory of Christ Spirit gave life through the Word of God Now the cross got me feeling alive I was blind, now I see Grace alone set a slave man free King Jesus, beautiful King Now His light is everything One day faith gonna turn into sight No more shadows, everlasting light We’ll behold Him face to face Undone by mercy, stunned by grace Satisfied forever in His beauty Every rival joy finally losing And as we gaze on the risen Son We become like the Holy One New creation, no curse, no graves No more sin that we gotta fight every day River of life and the Lamb on the throne And the saints finally home Can’t imagine what His glory’s like Every star in the sky just a shadow of Christ All the beauty in the world just hints At the infinite depths of His radiance We won’t get bored in eternity Infinite God means infinite beauty Every moment deeper delight As the saved keep seeing new heights Yeah, beatific vision forever No fading joy ’cause His worth is endless And the more that we see His face The more we’re changed by His blazing grace
