William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park Campground Tour along the bike trails of Madison Dane County

continuing my tour of Wisconsin County Park Campground now brings me to William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park. At the heart of many Bike Trails to explore the Madison Area and Beyond The 345-acre park is a unit of the Capital Springs Recreation Area and features a campground*, three reservable shelters, two accessible fishing piers, play equipment, barrier-free boat launch (with a fish cleaning facility), wildlife pond, observation tower, hiking and cross-country ski trails. A solar energy system provides about 90% of the electricity used by campers, day-use visitors, staff, and visitors at the Lussier Family Heritage Center, an indoor facility located in the park. Two paved bicycle/pedestrian trails go through the park including: Capital City State Trail (Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources) Lower Yahara River Trail *The campground has 47 reservable sites (two fully accessible), including 39 electric sites (with 50 amp hook ups for RVs), 8 non-electric sites, bathroom and shower facilities, and a sanitary dump station.
