Jewish Suite “FAMILY JOYS” Music by: A. Gus Choreography by: I. Moiseyev The Jewish Suite “Family Joys” is a recent addition to Moiseyev’s ongoing dance cycle “Pictures of the Past”. Drawing upon the impressions of a childhood spent in the Ukraine, Moiseyev depicts the warm spirit of a family celebration with a collection of colorful characters. Two Jewish families are celebrating the engagement of their children. Noble old and young people gather in celebration and they start to dance. At first the dance is slow and ceremonial, then the speed increases and the whole affair culminates with a bounteous feast.
