The Garmin Fenix ​​8 Pro is a rather controversial update to the eighth-generation Fenix ​​series, especially in Russia. Their key advantage is their cellular and satellite communications capabilities. They allow for completely autonomous messaging, voice calls, location sharing, and SOS alerts. However, for a number of technical reasons, this simply doesn't work in Russia. Furthermore, due to the need to house the antenna in the watch case for these functions, the new model is significantly thicker than its predecessor, which doesn't make it any better. As for the second major update, namely the addition of a Pro model with a super-bright MicroLED screen capable of a mind-boggling 4,500 nits, it simply costs almost twice as much as the standard Fenix ​​8, coming in at $2,000. Nevertheless, I still managed to test the Fenix ​​8 Pro for several weeks, albeit in the AMOLED version with a diameter of 47mm. Today, I'm ready to share my impressions of the new product with you, compare it with its predecessor, and, as usual, draw my conclusions.
