In this second mix, I've curated a selection that showcases Prince's modern R&B side #prince4ever --- This is not mixing! Some DJs keep commenting “where is the mixing?” under my YouTube sets. But not every episode is meant for the club or a dancefloor crowd. When I share music online, it’s less about flashy blends and more about storytelling through sound and lyrics. For me, the magic is in the selection, the sequence, and the way one track emotionally leads into the next: like chapters in a concept album. Smooth mood transitions, occasional sharp pivots, lyrical progression, rising tension, soft landings… And most importantly: most songs are perfect as they are. Why cut them short when every second is delicious! I love letting tracks breathe, unfold, and shine. --- DVS (Digital Vinyl System) Unfortunately, not all Prince albums and singles are available on vinyl, and when they are, the sound quality is not always as good as it should be. That's why I used DVS, because I own all of his CDs and I converted them to the highest possible quality to play my set for you. Enjoy! DVS is a DJ technology that allows you to control digital music files on your computer / smartphone using traditional turntables with special timecode vinyl. It combines the tactile feel of analog DJing with the flexibility of digital music libraries. --- deep cuts A "deep cut" is a lesser known piece of music that presents one or more of the following traits: 1. it has never been played live or gets performed rarely 2. it is not frequently heard on the radio because it is not a hit and, as a result, doesn’t fit within most of the ordinary and commercially appealing playlists 3. it is known almost exclusively by the truest and most devoted fans of a given artist or band 4. the label “deep cut” can be assigned to any of the album tracks that have not been published as a single 5. it is considered as a particularly brilliant song that most of a band’s ordinary fans are generally unaware of 6. it is a track buried in the huge catalogue of an artist with a long career 7. it may be any of an artist’s older songs that is not played live or broadcast as frequently as it was before (source: https://www.uncoveringsound.com/deep-...)
