🇲🇼 “The honeymoon of plundering government resources is over!” — President Arthur Peter Mutharika has made a bold declaration as he officially takes office under the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). Speaking at a packed Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Mutharika vowed to restore integrity, discipline, and efficiency in Malawi’s public service, warning corrupt officials that their time is up. “Malawi belongs to all of us — regardless of politics, culture, or religion. If anyone acts otherwise, I will go after them,” he said firmly. The new President urged Malawians to stay patient and hardworking as the nation tackles foreign exchange shortages, food insecurity, and economic recovery. He also promised to open Malawi to international investors, ensuring a stable and transparent environment for business and growth. Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah hailed him as a visionary leader devoted to unity, peace, and prosperity. The inauguration drew regional leaders including President Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe), President Chapo (Mozambique), PM Majaliwa (Tanzania), and others — marking a new chapter in Malawi’s political and economic future.
