Channa asiatica grows maximum 35 cm and is a relative small Snakehead. De habitat consists of tropical monsoon rainforest. Features are heavy rainvall, high density and high temperatures in summer. In winter watertemperatures drop well below 19 degrees C. In summer temperature rises to 22-28 degrees. Channa asiatica can survive high temperatures. However, if it is kept in high watertemperature for a longer period it will suffer from (lethal) bacterial infections. Channa asiatica is a mouthbreeder. Sexing is difficult since the difference between male and female is difficult tot distinguish.
