Ames Moot Court Competition 1982
The case Peter Rogers, William French Smith v. James Mendez was argued on November 22, 1982 at the Ames Moot Court Competition. The presiding judges were Hon. Sandra Day O’Connor, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court; Hon. Ruth Bader Ginsburg '56-'58, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; Hon. John J. Gibbons '50, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Third Circuit. The Ames Competition, held in the historic Ames Courtroom of Harvard Law School, is one of the most prestigious competitions for appellate brief writing and advocacy in the country. The students participating in the Final Round started the competition in fall of their 2L year. Two teams progressed to the Final Round through their strong research abilities and excellent written and oral advocacy.
