Psalm 10:1-18 Lord, Hurry, Come A single graffiti mark on the wall: "God is dead." This does not mean that God does not exist. It is a cynical assertion that God exists, but does not intervene in this world. — The wicked man in Psalm 10 believes this. Hunting the wretched with the tongue of a viper, stabbing them in the back, and bringing them down, he is convinced that "God does not watch." However, the psalmist does not turn his back on silence. Rather, he kneels. Not because he has nothing but prayer, but because prayer is everything. He knows that God’s phenomenological absence is not an ontological absence. It is a song sung while waiting on his knees today until the day when the faint pulse beats again, when red blood is filled, when the orphan finds a home, and when the tyrant’s reign ends— until the Lord’s kingdom comes.
