🎥 NEW INTERVIEW: Toekiloga Tehumu on the ano — a traditional Tuvaluan sport and symbol of culture 🌴🇹🇻 We’re excited to share this special interview with Toekiloga Tehumu, a youth representative from Nanumaga, who talks about the ano — the ball used in a traditional Tuvaluan sport still played today! 🏐 Toekiloga took part in the Digital Ark Youth Scanning Workshop in May 2025, where he chose to digitize the ano as part of his contribution to preserving Tuvalu’s cultural heritage. In this interview, Toekiloga reflects on: 🌊 the importance of the ano to sports and culture in Nanumaga and Tuvalu 💫 and the cultural values it represents for the Tuvaluan people. As part of the Digital Nation Project, Toekiloga also created a 3D digital model of the ano, now part of the Digital Ark — a digital repository dedicated to safeguarding Tuvalu’s tangible and intangible heritage.
