Carolan's Concerto - a tune by Turlough O'Carolan tabbed for mandolin and played by Aidan Crossey

2 September 2021. For many years I have been fairly resistant to the charms of O'Carolan's tunes. However I have found that playing the tunes reveals their appeal in ways which merely listening simply doesn't. And this is very much the case with the concerto... Once I had memorised the various quirks in the second part in particular, it became almost addictive. Because the tablature for the entire piece is, by necessity quite "busy" and therefore somewhat difficult to read on-screen, I have taken the unusual step of tabbing out the parts separately and the relevant part syncs with the music in the video.
