The peace proposal signed by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian contains 14 points. One of the points in the agreement addresses traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. During the 60-day agreement, Iran and the US agreed that ships could pass through the waterway free of charge. However, Tehran insists on controlling the shipping routes and will impose a toll. Initially, ships were free to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which is jointly managed by Iran and Oman. Tehran emphasized that all ships passing through must use their authorized routes.
