When I have not found musical sources, I have used images concerning musicians. The art of these "trouveurs" of the XIth, XIIth and XIIIth centuries is a feudal art; knights, lord and princes opposing one another in poetic joustings with the greatest being, despite their political occupations, not the least among these musician-poets.
