Caroline was separated from her mother as a toddler and grew up in various foster homes. Instead of security, she experienced rejection, violence, humiliation, and the feeling of never truly belonging anywhere. Later, she tried to function, but repeatedly lost her footing and eventually reached a point of utter despair. Her encounter with Jesus became the beginning of a long journey on which she confronted her past and her deep wounds. For Caroline, healing didn't mean a quick happy ending, but a painful process in which she discovered a new identity step by step. Today, she clings to the hope that her life will have a good ending because God has laid his hands upon it.
