Freight and vehicle hijackings a concern for S.A economy

According to reports, trucks transporting building materials, mining equipment, cigarettes and even cooking oil have been hot favourites with Transnational Organised Crime or syndicates. Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal are the worst-affected provinces with the N3, R103, R21 and the R59 in the Vaal proving the desirable routes and national bill for truck hijackings stands at an annual R3 billion. So how do we move goods around safely until the point of delivery and how do we reduce the costs to consumers and companies alike?
