Sawmilling a Fallen Pine Into a Stack of 1x10 Boards
A fallen pine gets a second life. In this episode we run it through the Woodland Mills HM130 MAX portable sawmill and cut it down into a full stack of rough 1x10 boards. This is start-to-finish sawmilling — loading the log, squaring the cant, and watching fresh lumber come off the bed one pass at a time. No rush, no clear-cut, just the mill, the river, and the work. If you're into portable sawmills, the HM130 MAX, or turning a single log into usable lumber, this one's for you. But this isn't only a work video. It's a day at the North River — so between cuts you'll see who else calls this place home: a black bear at first light, a great blue heron, deer moving through the ferns, goslings on the beaver dam, and a porcupine out for a night walk. The mill runs, the river keeps moving, and the land does its thing around us. Sit back and let it run. The HM130 MAX (with the hydraulic FULLCUT head) makes short work of a log this size, and you'll see exactly how it handles a fallen pine from first cut to final board. 👉 Subscribe and follow the work: / @thenorthriver-on ⏭️ Coming up: we've got a much larger pine headed for the mill soon — this fallen one was the warm-up. The land is the point; the milling, the trails, and the seasons are just how we tell its story. 🛠️ Gear Used in this Video The Mill — Woodland Mills HM130 MAX
