Senate passes war powers resolution to curb future US military action against Iran

The Senate on Tuesday approved a war powers resolution seeking to block future U.S. military action against Iran, marking the first time the chamber has passed such a measure and underscoring growing bipartisan concerns about the conflict and its cost. The resolution passed 50-48, aided by support from four Republicans, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, along with all but one Democrat. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., voted against the measure.
